ROOTS & ROUTES scouts, inspires and coaches young talented musicians, dancers and media makers with diverse cultural roots and offers these urban talents talents new routes to realize their professional career. ROOTS & ROUTES supports art schools and other educational institutes in diversifying their curriculum.
ROOTS & ROUTES operates in an international network of partners from cultural, educational, welfare and youth organisations. The project R&R INTERNATIONAL takes place in Hungary, Spain, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Portugal, Italy and France. In the project R&R LEONARDO, five countries are participating: Finland, France, Germany, The Netherlands and The United Kingdom.
ROOTS & ROUTES FINLAND organises in academic year 2007-2008 music, dance and media workshops and continuous coaching for talented young people between 16-25 years. The project has currently over 35 active young members and 10 enthusiastic professional coaches. Highlight of 2007 was a performace at the Helsinki city Mayor's official New Yera's Eve Concert at Senate Square, Helsinki. During the spring semester the project will create a performance/play that will will be performed on 28.5.2008. Workshops and concert appearances will also take place throughout the spring.
